2011 Hyundai Curb Concept

Near Veloster sports coupe, the South Korean company also brought the concept crossover Curb tot he 2011 Detroit Auto Show. This concept is a preview version for a future that they say will compete with models like the Nissan Juke. Hyundai expects the production model to debut in the next 2-3 years.

“We wanted the brake to be urban tough without looking like a truck, ” said Jason Brown, designer Hyundai. “city driving would be his forte, not crossing the Rubicon trail, but we wanted it to have an urban armor for everyday driving on city streets. It is necessary to enable its passengers in this setting.”

Hyundai crossover concept is defined by Curb “Fluidic Sculpture” Hyundai’s design language, a design language designed to attract new buyers. Beside the impressive external visual concept of the new brake is also offered with advanced blue link and connectivity features against shock and impact.

As with the coupe Veloster, the exterior design of the brake was also inspired by a sports bike. The concept of front glass s —- features that involves the hood and the hood covering the pillars and resembles a motorcycle helmet. The profile is dominated by a boomerang trajectory of the body lateral line, while the headlights and tail lights create the illusion that they are connected to the engine compartment or inside. And to finish with the same aggressive look, the brake is on 22-inch five-spoke wheels wrapped in Michelin tires with a saffron-colored custom floor to match the interior.
The interior receives a large acrylic canvas with several areas that allow the circulation of information among all passengers using a touch screen. Facilitate transport of this information are highlighted large monitors in the headrests. The list of technologies includes: Heads Up Display (HUD) provided by Continental with navigation, Pandora and Internet, of course, the Blue Link resource-sharing site that will send the location of the brake for selecting members of social networks.

The brake is powered by a 1.6-liter turbo gasoline direct injection engine (GDI) four-cylinder that produces 175 HP and 169 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) transmission technology and Idle Stop and Go (ISG). Do not expect to see a production version of Hyundai brake until 2013. Prices should start under 20K.

The Juke Nissan is powered by a choice of three engines: one diesel and two versions of 1.6 liters. Power ranges from 110hp to 190hp, so most of the choices are prevented by the brake. Not us, not like the look of any car, but if we had to choose one, choose the Juke Nissan just because he doesn, t make us want to say! “Beam me up, Scotty” as the brake does.

The Kia Soul is powered by a 126 hp diesel engine or gasoline engine. Hyundai Brake laughs this power, but we still have a chuckle out of the project so that the brake can even take the soul of the hamster in hand on the sidewalk. Yes, we lovers of speed do not like the design very much.
